PROMOTE. TOGETHER. LIVE. JAZZ.

The non-profit limited liability company King Georg Jazz Club promotes artists, projects, and live jazz in Cologne—out of conviction and passion.

Our goal is to make jazz in all its forms accessible to as wide an audience as possible, live and in a classic jazz club atmosphere—and to win new fans for this music. At the same time, we focus on inclusion and the targeted support of young artists. We see music as a cultural asset that connects people: across generations, without language barriers and without reservations.

Why your
support is important

Live jazz at this level is not possible without private funding. Since 2019, we have been organizing between 150 and 200 events annually, even during the pandemic years, reaching around 15,000 listeners. Given the scarcity of public funds, such a program can only be maintained and further developed with the support of many committed sponsors. This includes fair artist fees as well as costs for technology, organization, program design, GEMA, instruments, and room rental.

The annual financial requirement is around 500,000 euros.

What we do...

Promotion of jazz artists with clear focal points in our ranks

Young Talents
Support for students at music colleges in Germany – with a focus on Cologne, Essen, and Bremen. Regular concerts and jam sessions, especially on Wednesdays. At the same time, this series is an active platform for inclusion and the promotion of socially disadvantaged or disabled artists.
Jazz in Europe
German and European artists from the fields of straight ahead and modern jazz. Guests from the UK, France, Italy, and other countries feature in this series.
New York Jazz
This series represents what is still the artistic center of jazz today. It brings internationally renowned musicians as well as up-and-coming talents from the USA to Cologne. Guests have included Emmet Cohen, Jim Snidero, Jeremy Pelt, Samara Joy, Richie Beirach, Christian Sands, and Chris Potter.
